A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to inactive addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other party has an outdated email address or has made a spelling mistake. The drawback of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of junk messages, but this issue can be resolved using anti-spam filtering software. It is also important to remember that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming emails to a 3rd-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
In case you host a domain on our cloud web hosting platform and you’ve got a website hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all feature for any mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel comes with quite a few features, but it is extremely intuitive, so creating a catch-all mailbox requires just a single click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have created will be shown in this section in alphabetical order and you’ll just need to click on the "Catch-all" button for the particular address. Our system will notify you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either turn off the latter feature or select another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as easy and takes one more click on the very same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all address can be set up with several clicks of the mouse if you have a semi-dedicated hosting plan with our company. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed through our custom-built Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to create email addresses using any domain name hosted here. To activate the catch-all feature for a specific mailbox, you’ll need to click on the icon with the same name, which will be next to each email address. Disabling the feature can be done in the exact same way and will not take more than one click either. In case the catch-all feature has already been activated for a given domain name, you’ll get a warning message. The same goes if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never deactivate or alter any feature automatically.
