Having root-level access to a server means that you'll be able to view and modify any file on it, which includes essential system files. You may also set up software that can modify specific settings on your server during the process, so that the installation is possible only if you're signed in as the root user. The latter has full privileges, i.e. you will have full control over your machine at any time and you'll be able to perform anything you want. You can also generate additional users either with identical rights or with fewer rights, depending on what you require them for - everyday tasks, other server administrators, etc. To be on the safe side, it's usually recommended to employ the root account only when you actually need it and not for tasks you can do through other accounts. You may use a web-based graphical interface or a Secure Shell console to be able to connect to the server and to control it at the root level.
Full Root-level Access in VPS Servers
Our VPS web hosting plans include different degrees of access, in order to give you the option to choose the one you need, depending on your level of experience and on what you'll need the server for. When you buy a VPS without Control Panel, you'll have full root-level access and you can take care of everything from a console, unless you set up some third-party instrument. The servers that are ordered with the DirectAdmin or the cPanel website hosting Control Panel also come with full root access, yet most of the things that are linked to your web content can be done via a graphical interface and not a console. You are able to install various frameworks or media streaming software, for example, without any problems. If you order the virtual server with the Hepsia Control Panel, you can still use a Secure Shell console to connect, however, the root access is limited. Yet, the Hepsia-equipped servers are the simplest to manage.
Full Root-level Access in Dedicated Servers
If you choose the cPanel or the DirectAdmin web hosting Control Panel, you'll have full root access to your new dedicated server, regardless of which of our packages you will select throughout the registration process. Exactly the same is valid when you choose not to get a Control Panel at all. All of our servers will provide you with the chance to run both very resource-demanding applications that are too heavy for a regular shared hosting account and apps that have certain requirements as to what the software environment on your website hosting server has to be. The latter is something which can't be achieved on a shared machine, as no server-side software can be installed on it. The difference between the abovementioned solutions is that without a Control Panel, server management can be done only via a console, whereas if you obtain cPanel or DirectAdmin, most of the system settings along with your website content will be controlled through a graphical interface. When you select Hepsia, which is the last Control Panel option on the registration page, you'll get a server with limited root access.
