Website Migration
-
Q: What does the website migration service consist of? Will my web site be safe?
A: When your present web hosting provider can no longer measure up to the requirements of your web site, or if you undergo continual network downtime, or if you are made to wait for hours for the help desk staff to reply to you, it may be a good idea to swap your web hosting provider, i.e. to migrate all the files for your websites along with your databases from your current provider to your new provider. At Driond, we know that this can often be difficult and time–consuming. That is the reason why we’ll accomplish all that for you for free! Our highly experienced technical team members will move your web site content from your present hosting provider to us. Our technicians have extensive experience with web site migration and can take care of everything – from a standard WordPress blog or Joomla™–driven site, to a highly elaborate, custom–made application.
-
Q: Web site migration sounds like lots of work. Just how long does it take?
A: There are plenty of factors to keep in mind – the total number of files, the physical size of the database, the complexity of the web site itself and the present workload of our website migration experts, etc. That being said, we do our best to implement all web site migrations within a 48–hour time period. Smaller–sized websites are migrated much faster – usually in less than 24 hours.
-
Q: What data will I need to provide to your Website Migration Department?
A: We’ll require the login information for your old web hosting provider’s Control Panel as well as the website’s name (domain name).
-
Q: The login info for my hosting account is delicate. How can I trust you?
A: Our Privacy Policy is an inseparable part of the contract that we’ll have with you as a customer. We are dedicated to safeguarding the security of the personal info obtained from the clients. To do that, we use technical security measures so as to avoid the loss, the misapplication, the alteration or the unlawful leakage of the personal details under our control. The safety measures include, but are not limited to: physical, electronic and managerial methods to safeguard and secure the info that we assemble on the web. When we request clients to submit financial info (for example, a credit card number), this info is secured using the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption technique.
-
Q: Will there be any outage for my web site?
A: While we move your site, it will be available both in your web hosting account with us and in your account with your old web hosting provider. Once the migration is finished, we will make sure that everything is working correctly and that the integrity of your content is not jeopardized before informing you that the transfer is done. Then we will instruct you how to move the domain to your hosting account with us and how to change your DNS resource records.
-
Q: Will my old hosting provider know that I’m leaving them?
A: No. We’ll never get in touch with your hosting provider about anything. They won’t be aware of the web site transfer either.
-
Q: Does it matter what platform my current provider is using?
A: Yep. We support all common Linux–driven hosting platforms. We don’t support Windows–based hosting platforms, since we do not provide Windows hosting solutions ourselves.Additionally, we don’t support proprietary website creation and administration tools like Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
